VITA 2.0 .jpg

Vita 2.0 (Ukraine) by Vita Stoikova

Once a neonatal nurse, Vita now serves as a military anesthetist at a frontline stabilization point, where wounded soldiers are brought from the battlefield. Her days are filled with routines of war — wounded, operations, CrossFit workouts, weapon cleaning, and cold showers — interrupted by air raid sirens and the thunder of bombs shaking the shelter walls. But fear no longer grips her; she has grown used to this new life. Still, Vita clings to her dream of motherhood, remembering the calm of the maternity hospital. She recalls the soft cries of newborns, but now she cares for shaking, wounded soldiers covered in mud.

Her strength comes from love: once her beloved survived the war thanks to medics like her. Now it's her turn to save someone else's beloveds.
